About Catholic Companion
We believe everyone deserves free access to authentic Catholic teaching, especially if you're new to the faith or still finding your way back to it. No account needed to look around, no paywall between you and an honest answer.
Who we are
Catholic Companion was co-founded by Alton and Rachel, who live in Phoenix, Arizona and attend their parish, Corpus Christi Catholic Church. As co-leaders of their parish's OCIA program (the onboarding program for new Catholics), we wanted to make sure the beautiful teachings of the Catholic Church are widely accessible — to those who are new to the faith, just exploring, or already Catholic and looking to grow.
We feel strongly that Catholic Companion should be reachable by anyone, even without a theological background. We try to explain the faith simply, in a way that's relevant today, without the specialized language other apps often lean on.
Beauty and the faith
We also appreciate deeply the art and beauty of the Catholic faith, and we want this app to represent that beauty well. God can often be found in beautiful things — in fact, we believe beauty itself is an inherent gift God has given to humanity. We strive to see God in beauty, and we hope you see it too — in this app, in the faith, and in your own life.
Every answer here is grounded in real sources — the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture, and the writings of the saints and Church Fathers — cited so you can look deeper yourself, not just generated opinion dressed up to sound authoritative.
Why it's free
Because the people who need this most — someone quietly wondering if they should walk into a parish for the first time, someone who can't afford another subscription — shouldn't be the ones asked to pay for it. Catholic Companion is sustained by donations from people who find it valuable, not by ads or a subscription. That's not a promotional offer. It's the whole point.
