Becoming Catholic (OCIA)
Welcome, we're glad you're here!
You're especially welcome if you're curious about the Catholic faith but feel unsure, uncommitted, or not quite ready to walk into a church. (We've been there!)
Like most relationships, getting to know Jesus and his Church usually starts casually, with a few “get to know you” conversations or first dates, and grows from there. Catholics call this early stage the Period of Inquiry. It's a time to ask questions, explore the faith at your own pace, and get to know the Church community. No commitment required.
Start with the videos below, and feel free to look around the rest of the site.

Ready to take the next step?
If you've decided you want to become Catholic, contact a local parish and join their program in person. Just ask about OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults; some parishes still call it RCIA). Every parish runs it a little differently, so use our parish finder to find a church near you.
